New New New

I'm excited to let you know there are NEW items in my store at ToscaReno.com. Check 'em out! I'll have the T-shirts from the Arnold in there soon, but I'll let you know when that happens!

Also, in case you didn't see this on FB or Twitter... scroll down to the video section at the EatCleanDiet.com to see what's coming up for the month of April! While you're there join the Kitchen Table. It's our forum for sharing what's up in your clean eating life (keep in mind, it's in a beta state, which means we're testing it out and making changes each and every day to make it better for you).

Finally, for some very exciting NEWS, I'll be sitting down with Robin Roberts of Good Morning America live on Wednesday, April 7th to discuss the Eat-Clean Diet. Read more here...

Alright, I'm off to continue my British adventures. I've been thoroughly enjoying eating my big lunch and small dinners here in London. I think I might adopt this principle when I come home, too.

Back soon!

Robert's Award

On Saturday evening I had the honor of attending the awards ceremony for the Pioneers of Physical Culture where my husband, Robert Kennedy, had bestowed upon him an award for his Enduring Commitment to Physical Culture. I was so proud and so excited for my husband. He was worked at this his whole life!

The event took place in Portsmouth, England. We took the train from Waterloo Station in London to Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon. It was a lovely evening hosted by Diane Bennett at the Queen's Hotel. There were heaps of bodybuilding legends there. I discovered I still have much to learn about this industry. I had no idea its history had such strong roots in England. Arnold Schwarzenegger even submitted a letter of congratulations to the award recipients since he could not be in attendance. It was exciting to meet Dr. Alfred Goerstl of Graz, Austria who gave Arnold his start before meeting Robert in England years and years ago.

Robert & I had a lovely time! I don't have my camera cord here otherwise I would upload photos for you to see. I will do it as soon as possible after my arrival home on Thursday. In the meantime, I'll be keeping you posted on my experiences here in London.

Thank you for the advice on clothing. I am becoming accustomed to rain gear and scarves to keep warm. Sun, sun anyone?

Back with more soon.

New Pics in the Gallery

Pictures from the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival & Expo have finally been loaded up into my gallery at ToscaReno.com. Be sure to check them out! There are a bunch of new ones different from the originals posted here on my blog. Enjoy!

So Much Blogging & So Little Time

We have safely arrived back in Canada after a relaxing jaunt to Jamaica. I am happy to be home, but swamped with tons of emails, laundry, and more packing to do. Why more packing? That's because my husband and I leave tomorrow for ten days in England. Very little turn around for me and my healing bug bites. Ouch! This jaunt across the Atlantic certainly does not involve anymore relaxation time. It will be all work work work and very little play! I will be keeping you posted as I am away. I think the weather is forecasting rain. Any British clean eaters who want to fill me in on what to pack? I'm always so bad at that part of travel. Pics of Jamaica will be coming soon!

The Jamaican Experience

We're a few days into vacation now. I'm so excited because my swimming times are improving so much over here in Jamaica. Swimming the ocean is so great for a challenging workout. Robert & I are still keeping up with our training in the outdoor gym. I'm also still running the beach most days. My mom and I are taking nice long walks, too. Turns out we are a little too far from Dunn Falls to check them out. We are sticking to resort adventures such as jet skiing, snorkeling, and banana boating. I've also finished 2 books, Olive Kitteridge (suggested by Oprah's Book Club) & Fearce Natives Home From Hot Climates (suggested by my daughter Kiersten). What a treat to finish 2 and be working on a 3rd! This never happens at home. I'm sure we're getting too much sun, but I love it! I'm also loving the egg white omelets and oatmeal at breakfast. It certainly isn't hard to eat clean here. Overall it's been quite a treat. A few more days of sun and sand and we'll be back on Canadian soil. I've heard it's beautiful in Toronto and hope it sticks around for us. I hope you're all keeping well, eating clean, lifting hard and loving every moment of the day!

Hello from Jamaica

My family and I have been settling into Jamaican vacation life for the last couple of days. We must be an especially high strung group because it takes us a few days to really get into the easygoing pace of vacation. I think we're finally getting there today. The hot and sunny weather certainly helps!

Thank you so much for your suggestions of places to see and things to do. We're going to plan some safe adventures soon.

We found an open-air gym for weight training. We sweat like crazy, but it's totally awesome for my muscles. I have also been doing my swims in the ocean. There is a buoy set up near the beach that marks out a distance similar to what I'll be doing for the triathlon. It's excellent practice. I've had to sacrifice my biking for the time being, but I've been keeping up with my beach runs.

My mom is joining us for the trip, too. She's such a sun worshiper and I'm always having to remind her to put on my sunscreen! I wish she would listen to me!

The food is yummy and the people are friendly. I think I can get used to this! Happy Monday!

Fat Fighter

Check out this interview I did with Fat Fighter TV while I was at the Arnold... http://fatfightertv.com/blog/2010/03/tosca-reno-3-ways-to-start-eating-clean/

March Break

Finally a little R & R time has arrived. I'll be spending 10 days with my family in Jamaica. This will be my first time visiting the island. Sun & sand are calling my name. I won't be ditching my workouts, though. I have every intention of keeping up with my tri training plan with early morning beach runs and laps in the pool. If I'm lucky there will be a bike in the gym so I can keep up with that, too. I'll keep you all posted of my routine while I'm there. Every once in awhile it's good to take some time off from the gym, but I've been off of my routine since the Arnold. It's time to get back on track, and vacation is the perfect opportunity! I can't wait to try out some delicious tropical fruits, too. Any Jamaican recommendations?

THE Arnold Recap

The Arnold Sports Expo 2010 is officially over and I am returning home with a full heart and a pocketful of memories. I want to thank all YOU for making the effort and coming out to see me in Columbus, Ohio. You stood in line for hours for three days straight! That’s dedication! I am impressed. Even better, when I put out a request for you to bring me your stories, your photos, your tattered books and your hits and misses – YOU DID! There were so many moving moments courtesy of you that I found myself working hard not to have a good cry at times. Wow!

My Eat Clean team who ran the Tosca Reno/Eat Clean Diet booth saw firsthand how important spreading the Eat Clean word is. Amanda captured your stories on film so we can share them with everyone who needs inspiration - hey we all do! Look for them on www.eatcleandiet.com soon. Cali, Stephanie, Marilyn, Rachel, Chelsea and Vinita talked first hand with our thousands of visitors helping them make purchases of books, photos, magazines, aprons, tanks and T-shirts. If you couldn’t make it to the Arnold get your own hot items at www.toscareno.com on my store page later this month.

In the meantime enjoy the photos. It’s a chance for you to review the fun we had and to consider yourself invited for Arnold 2011.

Keep it tight!
Your Sister in Iron,
Tosca Reno

Arnold Arnold Arnold

Day 1 of the Arnold is done! And what a day it was! I started off the morning with 2 interviews at Good Day Columbus and at Ohio State University's Writers Talk. The latter was at the beautiful Ohio Statehouse. I'm so glad I got to see it and learn a little bit about Ohio's history.

After that I had a quick bite to eat and it was off to a long day at the Arnold Expo. I was on the booth for a very long time signing books, taking photos and hearing tons and tons of stories. Thank you so for coming out to the event. We've all traveled a long way and it's so fabulous to meet all of you. It's an event dedicated to health & fitness... I love it!

Please stop by tomorrow if you can. Bring your before & after photos and your success stories. We have a "video confessional" set up where you can share your journey for us to post on the website to encourage others. For example, today I met a young mom juggling 2 of her 4 kids you has lost 43 pounds! Amazing! I want to hear more. Come and see me. Use the MuscleMag banner as your beacon. We're right next door.

Have a great night! I'm resting before our big company dinner... See you tomorrow.

Arnold Set Up

Here I am at the booth setting up for the next few days! I'll be selling this tank top and a bunch of others on my website soon after the Arnold is over.

Thank you so much for your cold suggestions. I have an arsenal of things with me to ward off my symptoms. Rest is the most important thing and I will be getting that right now! Can't wait to meet you tomorrow!

Overdone & Derailed

Shaky, tired, no appetite.... ugh! I have a cold. Yuck!

I definitely overdid it on the weekend with lots of driving, too much training, and not enough sleep. I think I forget I'm human and not superwoman. My body has kindly reminded me. Too bad it had to happen the day before I leave for the Arnold. I'll be spending all day resting so I can be on my game for the weekend.

My daughter has been suggesting lots of tips to try including hydrotherapy and immunity tea, but do you have any great cold remedies?

My Weekend Full of Canadian Pride

Watching the Olympics has become just another full time job in my house. In between bouts training, traveling, cooking & driving kids around I have spent 2 weeks glued to the television cheering on the athletes as they competed in this fabulous competition.

The Olympics get me so excited (especially during Canada vs. USA hockey games)! And a little emotional, too (Joannie Rochette you are some kind of saint). Watching the closing ceremonies yesterday left me with a feeling of great Canadian pride. I could feel it seeping from every pore of every person seated in that auditorium and it was extremely inspiring. I do hope my non-Canadian fans felt Vancouver was a kind & gracious host. We were very excited to have the games and all of you on our home turf. Way to go to every person who competed, especially my fellow Canadians who really rocked it and brought home lots and lots of gold! We aren't a very boastful or prideful nation, but I can say today with all my heart that I am SO proud to be Canadian.

But now what am I to do? Are the Olympics really over?

I guess I'll have some extra time on my hands... NOT!

The Arnold Sports Festival and Expo is literally DAYS away! 3 days to be exact.

I spent all weekend eating VERY clean and Cooler 1... grilled chicken breasts, steamed veggies, very little complex carbs. Ugh! Sometimes I forget how hard it can be, but I am determined to look my best at the expo.

These Olympics have inspired me to kick it into high gear. What have they done for you?
